Jointly offered by Children's Hospital Boston and Boston Medical Center as part of the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics, the Global Child Health Initiative was established to increase knowledge and awareness of global health issues, to provide specialized knowledge, skills and mentorship to residents with career interests in Global Child Health and to provide high-quality opportunities for meaningful international clinical experiences. The initiative offers exposure to international and refugee patients, as well as faculty working on cutting-edge, grass-roots policy and health delivery implementation in the developing world.
The Initiative has three major components:
- Global health teaching curriculum for all BCRP residents.
- Global health electives at supervised, affiliated international sites.
- Fellowship in Global Child Health through Boston University.
