The Harvard Global Health Institute, in collaboration with the Climate Change Solutions Fund and the Harvard University Center for the Environment, hosted a symposium on the impact of climate change on health, entitled “Human Health in a Changing Climate.”
The symposium, which was part of Climate Week at Harvard, was opened by Harvard President Drew Faust. Michelle Williams, Dean of the TH Chan School of Public Health, introduced the keynote speaker, Gina McCarthy, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency between 2013 and 2017.
McCarthy delivered a rousing defense of climate science and the work of the EPA, and received a standing ovation from the audience of 100. The symposium also featured three panels, on climate change and migration, communicating about climate change in the US and Europe, and “A Physician’s View of Climate Change.”
