Vin Gupta, MD MSc, is a Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician at Brigham & Women's Hospital. He is also commissioned as a Captain in the US Air Force Medical Corps, where he serves as a Critical Care Air Transport Physician. At the Institute, his focus is on Strategic Health Diplomacy and Climate Change, where he is leading a research initiative seeking to better characterize the determinants, distribution and future directions of American Health Foreign Aid. Understanding how such aid can assist in climate mitigation efforts across climate-vulnerable countries in our Global South is a secondary focus.
Dr. Gupta received his BA from Princeton, MD from Columbia University’s College of Physicians & Surgeons, MSc in International Relations from the University of Cambridge where he was a Rotary Global Grant Scholar, and is currently completing his MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, where he is a Dean’s Fellow. His prior research work at the intersection of health and foreign policy as been published in The New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet Global Health, and the Huffington Post.
