On July 28th and 29th, 2016 Harvard worked with West African leaders and Chatham House to host the West African Workshop on post-Ebola Global Reforms which took place in Monrovia, Liberia. Six countries (Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone) participated. The themes and conclusions of seven major reports analyzing the global response to Ebola were reviewed, with specific focus on areas of particular concern at the national and regional levels. Delegates reflected upon the issues included or omitted from the reports, how useful or acceptable they found the recommendations to be, where significant barriers to implementation exist, and solutions to issues identified. At the conclusion of the meeting a final communique was signed to inform next steps for regional and global action.
