Technology has the potential to revolutionize global health by improving access to care, enhancing service quality, and reducing costs. About the Speakers

 

Jarone Lee Profile Picture

Jarone Lee, MD, MPH, Co-Founder, Health Tech Without Borders, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine 

Dr. Jarone Lee, MD, MPH is a dual-trained specialist in emergency and critical care medicine, with over a decade of experience as a disaster responder. He co-founded Health Tech Without Borders, Inc. (HTWB), a global non-profit dedicated to using digital tools and technology to provide immediate access to health resources in humanitarian crises. Dr. Lee is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and serves as Director of Global Partnerships at MGB Global Advisory. Additionally, Dr. Lee leads critical care strategy as Vice Chief of Critical Care in the Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Lee graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed his residency training at St. Luke’s Roosevelt of Columbia University before completing a fellowship in Critical Care at Mass General Hospital.

 

Marianna Petrea-Imenokhoeva Profile Picture

Marianna Petrea-Imenokhoeva, MS, Co-Founder, Health Tech without Borders Founder, DHC (Digital Health Consulting SRL)

Marianna Petrea-Imenokhoeva is a digital health expert with over 25 years of experience in the tech industry. She co-founded Health Tech Without Borders, a global non-profit organization dedicated to mitigating healthcare crises by leveraging digital tools and technology to provide immediate access to health resources. She serves as a senior advisor for DHAGE (Digital Health Advisory Group for Europe) and several European Commission projects. Marianna has a background in telehealth and emergency deployments. She is particularly interested in the policies, legal frameworks, and financial aspects of digital health implementations, as well as in assessing the overall impact of digital health on healthcare systems in the EU. Marianna earned her master’s degree in Cybernetics from the People’s Friendship University, and later earned a specialization in Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare at Stanford University School of Medicine. 

 

About the Global Health Coffee Sessions Event Series

The HGHI Coffee Sessions Virtual Series takes place on the last Friday of each month from 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM Eastern Time. Showcasing global health researchers and practitioners from Harvard and beyond, this series aims to explore the role of partnership and collaboration when working to advance global health equity. A diverse range of topics will be covered; including climate change and health, global health security, mental healthcare, reproductive healthcare access, financing and governance for global health, healthcare in conflict areas, digital health, and more. This series will take place online over Zoom, and all sessions will be recorded and available on our YouTube Channel.
