Student Research Showcase
The Student Research Showcase is a university-wide poster session featuring global health research by Harvard undergraduate and graduate students. The event celebrates student scholarship and fosters interdisciplinary exchange, bringing together research, practice, and policy perspectives from across the Harvard community.
The showcase provides a platform for students to share findings on pressing global health challenges, engage in meaningful discussion, and spark interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaborations that may lead to future research, policy, or practice initiatives.

Overview
The 2026 Global Health Student Research Showcase, hosted by the Harvard Global Health Institute, in partnership with the Department of Global Health and Population at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, will take place on April 17, 2026, bringing together Harvard undergraduate and graduate students to present research addressing today’s most pressing global health challenges.
This year’s showcase highlights student work across priority focus areas in global health and offers an opportunity for researchers to share findings, engage with peers and faculty, and contribute to interdisciplinary dialogue shaping the future of global health.

- Light refreshments will be served.
- Open to current all members of the Harvard community with an HUID. Registration is not required, but strongly encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome.

Can I update my submission after applying?
Yes. If you need to update your abstract before the submission deadline, please email HGHI_StudentEngagement@harvard.edu.
What if my research is ongoing?
Ongoing research is eligible. Priority may be given to completed work that demonstrates strong rigor, innovation, relevance, and alignment with HGHI’s focus areas.
The Harvard Global Health Research Showcase took place on Friday, April 11th, 2025, providing a platform for Harvard graduate and undergraduate students to present their research on pressing global health challenges. This event fostered interdisciplinary dialogue and offers a valuable networking opportunity for both presenters and attendees.

Poster Title:
“Community Engagement Pilot to Enhance Postpartum Women’s Choice in HIV Prevention in Botswana”
Sara, a senior at Harvard College, presented research stemming from her experience as an HGHI summer intern with the Botswana Harvard Health Partnership in Gaborone. Her project focused on improving HIV prevention efforts among postpartum women by piloting community-based engagement strategies to support informed health choices.

Poster Title:
“Accuracy of Infant Clinical Signs to Predict Neonatal Mortality in Rural Bangladesh”
Dr. Suci Ardini Widyaningsih’s research aimed to improve early identification of neonatal mortality risk in low-resource settings. Her work evaluated the predictive accuracy of clinical signs in infants, contributing valuable evidence toward more effective newborn health interventions in rural Bangladesh.
