Position Overview
This internship provides hands-on experience in global health program implementation, research, and evaluation. Interns will work directly with Touch Health teams on programmatic and strategic initiatives aimed at increasing access to care, improving health outcomes, and strengthening health systems in Tanzania.
Project Details
Interns may be involved in one or more of Touch Health’s programs:
watotoCare project – A transportation and telehealth solution to ensure continuity of care for high- and medium-risk newborns during their first two months of life. The project involves subsidized transport and home-based teleconsultations in partnership with Sengerema District Hospital.
SimuConsult project – A teleconsultation model to extend healthcare access to rural communities. Interns may assist in monitoring and evaluation, program development, and implementation to increase patient reach and improve follow-up care.
Project responsibilities include:
Supporting program development and implementation in collaboration with management and local leadership
Conducting research and strategic analyses
Assisting in development of workplans and budgets
Collaborating with implementation partners and vendors
Collecting and reporting primary data
Conducting data analyses to evaluate program impact
Participating in monitoring and evaluation activities
Contributing to progress reports for management, donors, and stakeholders
Intern Responsibilities
Responsibilities include supporting program teams on research, data analysis, M&E activities, reporting, and strategic development. Interns will gain exposure to program operations, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration with local health partners.
Qualifications
Good judgment, discretion, and respect for local culture
Experience in international or low-resource settings preferred
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail, written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage multiple assignments, respond flexibly, and work independently and collaboratively
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Work Environment
Fully in-person. Interns are embedded in program teams on the ground in Tanzania, with access to all team members and leadership. Interns will have a project buddy to support onboarding and integration into organizational operations.
