  • Work Environment Details: The Intern will work at the Global Health Campus in Geneva, collaborating with the Executive Director Office (EDO), External Affairs and Strategic Initiatives (EASI), and TB Reach (TBR) teams. The Stop TB Partnership offers a dynamic and culturally diverse environment, with 89 personnel based in Geneva.

Our vision is a world free of TB and, until then, making diagnosis, treatment and care available to all who need it. We aim to achieve our vision of a world free of TB by pursuing five key objectives; 1. To ensure that every person with TB has access to effective diagnosis, treatment, and cure;
2. To stop transmission of TB;
3. To reduce the inequitable social and economic toll of TB;
4. To develop, implement and increase access to new preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic TB tools, products, and strategies; and
5. To amplify the voices of people with and affected by TB and secure meaningful change through strategic advocacy and communications. The Stop TB Partnership brings together expertise from a broad spectrum of country, regional, and global partners in our shared mission to revolutionize the TB space and end TB by 2030.

 

Position Overview:

The purpose of the internship is to support the achievement of the Stop TB Partnership’s work to engender political and financial commitment to end TB as a public health problem. The intern will support a robust identity and role of the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat in global, regional and national health and TB advocacy.

Project Details:

The Stop TB Partnership is a multi-stakeholder and multi-project funded global partnership that brings together expertise from a broad spectrum of country, regional, and global partners in our shared mission to revolutionize the TB space and end TB by 2030. Founded in 2001, the Stop TB Partnership is a United Nations hosted organization that takes bold and smart risks to serve the needs and amplify the voices of the people, communities, and countries affected by TB.

We work to advocate, catalyze, and facilitate sustained coordination and collaboration among partners; to support the development, replication, and scale-up of innovative approaches and tools; and to facilitate equitable access to TB diagnostics, treatment, and care for all in need. We believe that our comprehensive range of strategic and technical expertise and our willingness to push boundaries are crucial factors in reaching the targets set forth by the TB community at large. The intern will be part of multi-skilled Secretariat based in Geneva supporting many different programme activities in many countries, with a specific emphasis on advocacy, communication, partnership building, and political engagement with national authorities and multilateral organisations in the fight against TB.

 

Intern Responsibilities:

1. Social media: propose content for social media channels and tactics to increase social media engagement.
2. Website: Review the existing webpages of STBP’s website and propose enhancements. Create and curate engaging content and news to drive more traffic to the website.
3. Content: Contribute to the development and implementation of a content calendar, and draft social media packages, blogs, news, articles, scripts and other products as needed.
4. Publications: Support the development of STBP’s publications and flagship reports, including editing content, creating infographics and proposing visuals.
5. Event management: Support efforts related to event management – including preparing and dispatching invitation letters, assisting with organization, implementation of and follow up to events, briefings, video/audio conference calls and webinars
6. Other: Provide general assistance to the EDO on various projects and activities, including administrative support, scheduling of meetings, taking meeting minutes etc.

 

Qualifications:

Experience and soft skills requirements:
Strong conceptual, strategic thinking and passion for TB and global health.
Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Proficiency in various computer and software applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Language requirements:
Fluency in English is required

Learning Outcomes:

– Gain hands-on experience working in the TB and global health space, particularly related to how the Stop TB Partnership engages with a broad spectrum of country and global stakeholders and partners.
– Gain critical knowledge on key trends in the TB and global health space.
– Gain practical knowledge related to project coordination, planning, and results and activities reporting.
– Gain overall knowledge of the UN system.
– Participate in in-person and/or virtual events and meetings with country and global decision-makers in TB and global health.
