The COVID-19 Pandemic underscored the critical importance of emergency preparedness for all countries, prompting a renewed focus on allocating resources to prevention and planning. The interconnected nature of health crises highlighted the collective global responsibility to prevent, detect, and respond to health threats. The Harvard Global Health Institute (HGHI) recognizes the imperative of global health security as a thematic focus area. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, HGHI aims to contribute to the development and implementation of effective global health security measures, including robust surveillance systems, capacity-building initiatives, and coordinated response mechanisms.
