2025 GLOBAL HEALTH SYMPOSIUM

The Harvard Global Health Institute’s annual Global Health Symposium provides the opportunity for faculty, staff, and students across Harvard’s schools, institutes, centers, departments, and affiliated hospitals, as well as an international community of health professionals, academics, and civil society, to connect and engage in meaningful conversations around some of the most pressing global health issues in an inclusive hybrid experience.

The theme of this year’s Symposium is Partnerships in Action, which seeks to highlight innovative, action-oriented, and collaborative approaches aimed at achieving global health equity. David Walton, MD, MPH, the U.S. Global Malaria Coordinator for the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative, and Rocio Saenz, MD, the Executive Director of the Network of the Americas for Health Equity, will be this year’s keynote speakers.
More than 700 individuals from around the world joined a wide variety of sessions in person or online throughout the day at HGHI’s inaugural Global Health Symposium: Global Health Equity Through Community Engagement. Dr. Ahmed Ogwell Ouma, Acting Director, Africa CDC, served as the event’s keynote speaker, highlighting Africa’s New Public Health Order.
